This is a great week for technology in Toronto.  Canadian Commtech Show and Seminars http://www.commtechshow.com/east/ will be at the Mississauga Conference Centre for April  15-16, 2014.   There will be presentations from Helen Xenos of Ciena, Rajesh Chundury of Ericsson, Tony Kourlas of Alcatel Lucent, and John Bakowski, past President of BICSI.   We will have a lot of interesting sessions to choose from.

And wouldn’t you know that during those exact same two days Cisco Connect Canada http://www.cisco.com/web/CA/ciscoconnect/2014/index.html will be at the Toronto Congress Centre.   At this event, the keynote will be given by Rebecca Jacoby, Snr VP and CIO of Cisco.

Tech addicts will be forces to choose.  I for one would have gone to both.  You would have thought that the two could have coordinated to run sequentially during the same week.  This would have allowed ”out of towners” to more easily justify the trip.

Reluctantly, I will be passing on Cisco to attend Commtech.  There should be an update coming soon.
