TruePulse would like to purchase Nortel Optera 3500 OC-48 boards NTN408AN, NTN408AA and NTN408DA.   They may also be known as the Ciena OM3500 NTN408AN, the Ciena OM3500 NTN408AA and Ciena OM3500 NTN408DA.

The Nortel Optical Metro 3500 network element is a multiservice platform offering dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM). On the physical layer (layer 1), an Optical Metro 3500 network can be configured as a unidirectional path-switched ring/subnetwork connection protection (UPSR/SNCP), a 1+1 linear/MSP configuration, a 2-fiber bidirectional line-switched  ring/multiplex section-shared protection ring (BLSR/MS-SPRing), or as an unprotected fiber optic run.

On the data link layer (layer 2), an Optical Metro 3500 network can be configured as an Optical Packet Edge ring with layer 2 protection, in accordance with Resilient Packet Rings (RPR) defined by the IEEE 802.17 working group. The platform is currently supported by Ciena.

The NTN408xx series are OC-48 DWDM interface cards for the OM3500 that are each specific to a certain wavelength. TruePulse is actively searching for:

  • NTN408AA, HECI code SOCPRAA, is an OM3500 OC-48/STM-16 ER DWDM circuit pack (1528.77nm), band 1 channel 1 (C-Band)
  • NTN408DA, HECI code SOCPRDA, is an OM3500 OC-48/STM-16 ER DWDM circuit pack (1557.36nm), band 4 channel 1 (C-Band)
  • NTN408AN, HECI code SOCPRAB, is an OM3500 OC-48/STM-16 ER DWDM circuit pack (1533.47nm), band 1 channel 2 (C-Band)

TruePulse is looking for other OM3500 cards too.  In addition, we are searching for other Nortel optical transport platforms such as the Nortel S/DMS TransportNode OC-48, the Nortel OC-48 Lite, and the Nortel Optera Connect DX.  Please let us know what you have for sale.
