35 years ago, Terry Fox started his courageous run across Canada, “The Marathon of Hope” to raise funds for Cancer Research. As many of you know, he was felled by cancer before he could complete his run.

Terry’s memory lives on with the annual 5 km Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research. To date, The Run has raised $1 billion for Cancer Research! This year, the run’s 34th will take place this weekend. In addition to many locations across Canada, the fundraiser will be held in Beijing, Paris, Hong Kong, Lima (Peru) and Cambridge MA.

In Richmond Hill, Ontario, the run will be at Mill Pond Park, at the corner of Mill Street and Wood Lane, on Sunday, September 20th from 8am to 2pm. For details, please see RichmondHillRotary. Over the years, Richmond Hill has raised $600,000 for Cancer Research through the Terry Fox Run. Cancer can be beaten!
