TruePulse is interested in sourcing LNW57 and LNW60 modules for the Lucent Metropolis DMX. You may also be familiar with it as an Alcatel-Lucent 1665, or a Nokia 1665.
The LNW57, HECI code SOI4DE0, Comcode 109126391, is an Alcatel-Lucent 1665 OC192 circuit pack, 1533.47 LR; 1 OC-192 HS, LR port per pack with VT granularity of 48 STS-1s equipped with Tone circuitry. The suggested replacement for the LNW57 is the LNW502.
The LNW57 high-speed circuit pack is a long-reach (80 km) OC-192 1533.47 nm circuit pack. It supports OC-192 add/drop, UPSR, and BLSR configurations, single and dual-homing, non-revertive linear and bidirectional 1+1 protection switching, and VT1.5, STS-1, STS-3(c), STS-12(c), and STS-48(c) signal transport. The LNW57 circuit pack can cross-connect VTs in any 48 of 192 STS-1s in the OC-192 signal. The Stratum 3 timing generator and central TDM switch fabrics are embedded in the OC-192 OLIU.
The LNW57 circuit pack utilizes a “dither tone” to frequency modulate the laser. This technique is used to minimize the effects of Stimulated Brillouin Scattering (SBS). At high optical launch powers, SBS can cause an acoustic back-scattering phenomenon in fibers. The dither tone effectively broadens the spectrum of the narrow optical pulse, thus raising the threshold power where SBS becomes an issue.
The LNW60, HECI code SO2I96U, Comcode 109522821, is an Alcatel-Lucent 1665 OC192 HS interface circuit pack. It has one OC192 HS, LR port per pack with VT granularity of 48 STS-1s equipped with an optical amplifier.
The LNW60 circuit pack is based on the LNW57 circuit pack. It has the same characteristics, capabilities, and specifications as the LNW57 circuit pack, but it also includes an on-board, integrated optical amplifier. When the on-board amplifier is in use, the LNW60 circuit pack is capable of bridging spans of up to 127 km. No separate management for external optical amplifier required.
In addition to the LNW57 and LNW60, we are searching for other Lucent Metropolis DMX modules too. We are also looking for modules for many other Lucent modules, such as WaveStar OLS 40G, the FT-2000, the LambdaUnite 1675 MSS and the DACS IV. Please let us know about all surplus Lucent telecom gear that you have available.
