The NT3X72AA, HECI code ENPQN7U or ENPQN8U, is a DMS-100 Network Port Serial Interface circuit pack.

The NT3X72AA modulates and demodulates the signals on the speech links and junctors utilizing a biphase receiver and driver circuits. The NT3X72AA removes and inserts signaling messages and test codes.  The NT3X72AB has similar functionality to the NT3X72AA.

NT3X73AA, HECI code ENPQN3E, is a DMS-100 Network Serial-Parallel Formatter circuit pack.

The NT3X73AA takes incoming serial data from the speech interface cards and converts it into the parallel format needed by the crosspoint cards. The formatter has four identical sections. Each section transforms 16 ports (8 pairs) of speech data into a 512-channel, 10-bit parallel bus.

Each formatter section receives 32 (4 sections x 8 pairs) serial data buses from eight serial interface cards. The Serial Parallel formatter produces data for the four 10-bit parallel buses, one to each of the four crosspoint (XPT) cards that make up one side of a Network Module.
