TruePulse is actively seeking Nortel Optera 3500 OC-48 boards NTN442AC and NTN442DA.   They may also be known as the Ciena OM3500 NTN442AC and the Ciena OM3500 NTN442DA.

The NTN442 series are OC-48 DWDM interface cards for the OM3500 that are each specific to a certain wavelength. TruePulse is actively searching for:

  • NTN442AC, HECI code SOCPAAC / SOCPAACAAA, is an OM3500 OC-48/STM-16 LR DWDM circuit pack, Band 1 Channel 3, 1530.33 nm
  • NTN442DA, HECI code SOCPADN / SOCPADNAAH, is an OM3500 OC-48/STM-16 LR DWDM circuit pack, Band 4 Channel 1, 1557.36 nm

On the physical layer (layer 1), an Optera Metro 3500 network can be configured as a unidirectional path-switched ring/subnetwork connection protection (UPSR/SNCP), a 1+1 linear/MSP configuration, a 2-fiber bidirectional line-switched ring/multiplex section-shared protection ring (BLSR/MS-SPRing), or as an unprotected fiber optic run.

On the data link layer (layer 2), an Optera Metro 3500 network can be configured as an Optical Packet Edge ring with layer 2 protection, in accordance with Resilient Packet Rings (RPR) defined by the IEEE 802.17 working group.

TruePulse is looking for other Nortel OM3500 cards too.  But we are searching for equipment from other Nortel platforms including the OM 6500, the S/DMS TransportNode OC-48 NE, the CS 2000 and the Optera Connect DX.
